Ciao, sono Marco Maurelli nato a Roma nel 1964. La mia passione per la fotografia nasce alle scuole medie dove ho partecipato ad un laboratorio di sviluppo e stampa in bianco e nero, avevo appena 13 anni e la magia della camera oscura mi emozionò subito, tornato a casa presi la vecchia reflex di mio padre (che ancora custodisco gelosamente) e non me ne sono più separato. Ora sono operatore di ripresa presso la RAI, la voglia di scattare foto e di viaggiare mi ha accompagnato per più di 30 anni e credo che non mi abbandonerà mai. Questo sito non ha scopo di lucro, ma solo di divulgare la mia passione nella speranza che altre persone si possano avvicinare a questa meravigliosa arte che si chiama fotografia. Non voglio annoiarvi con argomenti tecnici o con la descrizione della mia attrezzatura, penso che la macchina fotografica sia come la penna per uno scrittore, un bel romanzo si può scrive con una matita da pochi spicci o con una penna stilografica d’oro massiccio, ma la bellezza del contenuto risiede nella mente e nelle esperienze di chi scrive. Spero di essermi spiegato bene.
Devo e voglio ringraziare tutte la persone che hanno creduto in me e che mi hanno sempre incoraggiato a continuare, in primis mia moglie Annamaria e l’azienda per la quale lavoro (chiamata “mamma RAI”) che mi ha dato la possibilita di viaggiare, di sostenermi economicamente e di creare la mia famiglia che amo profondamente.

Hello, I’m Marco Maurelli,born in Rome in 1964. My passion for photography started in high school where I participated in a laboratory of development and printing in black and white, I was just 13 years old and the magic of the darkroom thrilled me immediately, coming back home I took the old reflex of my father (who still jealously guards) and didn’t separate from it no more. Now I’m a cameraman at the RAI, the desire to take pictures and to travel accompanied me for more than 30 years and I think that it will never leave me. This site has no profit, but only the purpose to disclose my passion, hoping that other people could be introduced in this wonderful art called photography. I will not bore you with technical arguments or with the description of my equipment, I think the camera is like a pen for a writer, a good novel you can write with a cheap pencil or a solid gold fountain pen, but the beauty of the content resides in the mind and in the experiences of the writer. I hope to have explained myself nicely.
I must and I want to thank all the people who believed in me and who have always encouraged me to continue, primarily my wife Annamaria and the company I work for (called “RAI the Mom”) which gave me the opportunity to travel, to support me economically and to create my own family that I love deeply.
